Become a Play Lawton Official

Interested in officiating with Play Lawton? Whether you're a seasoned official or just getting started, this page is your central hub for everything you need — from training and certification to required paperwork and next steps.

Note: Officials already certified through national organizations (NFHS, USA Softball, USSSA, USSF, etc.) are not required to complete this course. GPTC training is intended for new officials and those without national certification. Officials are independent third-party contractors and are not employees of ESM – Lawton (“Play Lawton”)

Steps to Become a Play Lawton Official

  1. Visit the Officials page at PlayLawton.com

  2. If certified through a national organization (USA Softball, NFHS, USSSA, USSF, etc.), email proof of certification to GM@PlayLawton.com

  3. If not nationally certified and 18 years or older, complete a background check using the DaySmart link

    • 3A. If under 18 years old, no background check is required

  4. If not nationally certified (all ages), register for the appropriate GPTC training class for the sport you plan to officiate

  5. After completing the course, email your training certificate to GM@PlayLawton.com

  6. Complete required paperwork (W9 and ACH forms)

  7. Download and join the Stack Team App (official communication platform):

    • Download “Stack Team App” from the App Store or Google Play

    • Create an account and activate via email

    • Search for Play Lawton and request to join

    • Request access to Umpires/Referees (General) and each sport group you intend to officiate
